Meika!

Meika

And here we have a very special Meika - she is officially the first ever 1/2 buckle Beetlebum to have wrap style straps!! Ive freehand machine stitched across the hood to accentuate the flow of the pattern. I really love how she has turned out, and she is already so soft and squishy. I am going to find it difficult to package her up - I want to keep her!

Thankyou SO MUCH Ms U. You have really gone beyond and I hope you love her as much as I have loved making her :).

Oh, and Im in love with the wrap style straps too... There could be some more of that going on!

On a personal note, things are going really well here. We are all feeling like things are settling down, however I have to admit that I will never ever judge another mother again! I have found it really difficult making the leap from two kids to three, adding to that Miss L starting school! Its been a wild journey let me just say.

My dear friend Amelia from Small and Bright popped over for some photographic fun a week or so ago, I will post some of the piccies in here tonight or tomorrow. They are amazing stunning - I just cannot believe how great she is with a camera! Like, we were in my messy house, on the dreariest rainy day yet she managed to really make the pictures pop. Needless to say, Phoenix was perfect. But you already knew that didn't you?

Magic Tree of Life

Here is my contribution to the Gossamer Dreams Easter stocking tonight!

She is a very special OOAK Beetlebum Baby Carrier with applique through the centre panel. The hood blends almost seamlessly with the body and she will be a full buckle just as soon as I get her straps sewn onto her!

If you like the looks of her then pop on over to Gossamer Dreams (here) and be ready at 8pm tonight! ETA - she will be auctioned, in a fast auction (2hrs) starting from 8pm, to make it fair for everyone.

I am still on my baby moon but cant stop sewing, its in my blood. I am now testing our baby sized carrier, which *may* be available soon. Check out Phoenix's one! (And an action shot of course - lil Phoenix froggied in the 14" size)

And for SU, pics of your special foresty carrier to come this evening my dear patient one!!!!

Kali

Here is Kali - in both the Beetlebums 1/2 buckle version, and the full SSC version :)

Kali - 1/2 buckle

Kali - Full Buckle SSC
I will be using Kali as an example, to show what the differences are between the 1/2 buckle carrier and the full buckle soft structured carrier.

Anyway, a really quick post because my lil Phoenix needs me - the Kalis are off to her new homes tomorrow!

What happens when a Beetle kisses a Cherub?

Ok, so what does this all mean, you ask? I ask that question myself all the time!

The sisterhood got together and made some madness happen..

More pics to come folks - these are up on Lesleys Ozebaby store right now!

A quick update :)

Hey Beetlefolk!

I have been trying my hardest to get all that I have on my plate done, I have got three carriers to complete then I am officially closed. All nappies that are owing will be flying out the door over the weekend, and hopefully the carriers will be out on Monday (but I want to say mid week to give myself some breathing space)

Its been so wonderful, all of my customers awaiting orders have been beyond understanding - thankyou so much!!!

Just please, to those asking for more from me - I cant possibly say yes. I am exhausted and find it hard enough to get through the day. Even the thought of opening again makes me feel ... sick. My family is suffering because of the stress I am under and I am now officially drawing the line. I will not be replying to any emails regarding nappies or carriers, unless there is an order outstanding. That means any order that has already been paid for. I am not open for customs in any case - especially when I am on my babymoon!

I will post any news here, on the blog, when I re-open.

I am sure you understand.

And along came Phoenix

Welcome to our world Phoenix John!

Our precious littlest bundle was born in the shower (so, kind of a water birth!) fast and early (at 35wks) on the 14th January 2010. He weighed 2.9kg.

24hrs in the Neonatal Care Unit gave him a clear bill of health, and four days later we were finally home!

Phoenix with the gorgeous little name plaque that one of the NCU midwives made for him. She makes them for all the NCU babies, and we truly treasure ours.

Feeling euphoria after our fast and amazing birthing. My body went from 1cm and thick to birthing in just two hours! Every single surge was important, fulfilling the role of opening me up to release my baby from my body. The mindblowing part for me is that this time around I was able to go so deeply within myself, feeling every centimetre opening and I instinctively knew exactly what my body needed during the whole experience. This time around I can say that there was absolutely no fear and therefore no pain. I just accepted the journey!

The universe is so amazing, the way it provides for us what we need. The paediatricians were awaiting Phoenix's birth in the NCU - they wanted to be present when he emerged. I truly do not know how but the buzzer did not work, and they didn't know that he was born for a little while after he came - giving me the precious skin to skin bonding time that we needed. The lady in the photo with us is Felicity, our amazing midwife, from the Midwifery Group Practice here in Ipswich.

And our sleeping beauty - he truly is stunning *swoon*. He is a treasure - and has already showcased his star ability for an antenatal class in the hospital, at just two days old!

So, I guess y'all know now that I am on my babymoon, and will remain so until further notice. However I do have a bit backlogged here and am going to get through that just as fast as I can - please be patient with me while we adjust to all these changes. Oh, I didn't mention that Miss Lola starts prep next week! Lordy me, its a big year this year!!!
